Mantle Makeover

Hi guys! It has been a while. I have been busy with work and school but today I have a new post for y'all, that I am excited to share. Our mantle has been less than put together. I just kind of put random things that we had around the house so the mantle was a random assortment of things. So I am excited to share with you our new and improved mantle! Keep reading to see the pictures below.

So here is the fireplace after we had already started painting it. The brick was all sorts of different colors and it just brought the feel of the room down. As you can see we decided to paint it white.

Look at the difference the paint makes! The white looks so much better than the brick.

And here is the finished product! I need to add a couple of more things on the landing thing of the fireplace but I feel much better now that we have the mantle put together. All of these items are from Hobby Lobby because they have a ton of sales and all of this happened to be on sale, wahoo!

I hope you enjoyed my mantle makeover because it definitely looks better!
Thanks for stopping by!

New York City {Part 3}

Happy Wednesday, its hump day friends! Today I am sharing my last and final post of our New York City trip.

We took this as we were heading out to breakfast.

This fountain was outside of the underground Apple Store.

We did not plan on going inside the Apple Store but we saw it and thought it looked cool so we went inside to see it.

Here we were in Central Park and they were driving sail boats around the lake. It was so pretty and peaceful to just sit there and watch.

Like I said before I love the trees and the tall city buildings, its just gorgeous.

We were all dressed up and ready for dinner! We were having a fancy steak dinner on the terrace off of our hotel room and we had a spectacular view!

My view from dinner, how gorgeous is that?!

As we were finishing dinner something exciting happened! Blake and I got engaged!! I am so so happy and excited, I love this man.

We took it easy our last few days but they were incredible. I hope you guys enjoyed these posts because I loved looking back on our trip. As always thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

New York City {Part 2}

Happy Monday friends! Today I am back sharing more of our trip to New York. You can see part one here!

Look at how gorgeous the new Freedom Tower is. The designers of this building did an impeccable job. We only saw the outside of this building but if the inside of it is anything like the outside it has to be gorgeous. On this day we walked around the financial district and made our way to the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Brooklyn Bridge was built in 1883 and is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the world and it's incredibly gorgeous. If you can't tell I love this city and I think everything there is gorgeous!

This was the skyline as we were crossing the bridge. The clouds over the city were so pretty!

Blake and I walking across the bridge with the Freedom Tower in the background!

The whole reason we went to Brooklyn was for the highly anticipated Juliana's Pizza! It did not disappoint us. We ordered the Margherita Pizza and it was delicious. There was a bit of a line but we got in there pretty quickly.

Just a little peek at a park we walked through when we got into Brooklyn.

That's all for today, thank you so much for stopping by! Come back Wednesday for my final New York City post!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! I am so happy that it is almost the weekend and I bet you are too! Today I am sharing my recent favorites.

ONE
My trip to New York City is definitely my top favorite. You can read part one here!

Check back next week for more updates on our trip!

TWO

My jawbone UP2. I bought this right before we went to New York and I have been loving it. I got the basic one that tracks your steps, workouts, sleep, and you can add your food. I bought it off of Amazon because it was a better deal.
UP2 by Jawbone Activity + Sleep Tracker, Light Grey Hex (Silver), Classic Flat Strap
I decided to go with Jawbone because they are a little more stylish than other fitness trackers I have looked at.

THREE

My adult coloring book was a life saver on our flight. We had a delay on our way there and had to make a stop because of some storms so I bought this to help keep me occupied for the rest of the flight. I thought this would stress me out because of all the tiny lines and trying to make it pretty with the perfect colors but it actually didn't and I was surprised.

That is all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

New York City {Part 1}

This past week Blake and I were off to New York City! Earlier this year we went to New York in the winter but this time around we wanted to experience it while it was warmer.

Everything about this city just captivates me. The atmosphere, all of the huge buildings, the parks, and just walking everywhere. This picture was taken while we were strolling through Central Park.

We also went to the Martin Creed Exhibit called The Back Door. His exhibit runs through August 8th so if you are in the city between now and then I think you should check it out! This exhibit was unlike anything I have ever seen. Some of the things were totally unexpected and fun.

The two pictures above are the same room. On that big screen they would show different pictures and then it would just shut off and the screen would retract and that door would open.

There was a room FULL of balloons that you could walk through. This was so fun! I felt like a kid again.

Just walking down the street and looking up to see the Empire State Building! This building is so gorgeous, especially when it is lit up at night.

We went to Bryant Park that night and I loved this place! We came back to this park every night of our trip, and one night there was a classical concert and it was amazing to just sit and listen too while being in the midst of the city.

I loved the details of this building, the black and gold went perfectly together. This is right across the street from Bryant Park.

Just look at that view, trees and huge buildings! This was the night of the concert at the park.

That is all for today! Thanks for stopping by and come back for more of what we did!

Summer Inspiration

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. Lets make this a great week.
I am sharing some summer inspiration that I have been loving this year.

First up I have been loving the look of midi dresses. They are so classy and you don't have to worry about anything thing showing that doesn't need to be! You can find this one here.

I have also been loving cuffed denim. I bought some from Old Navy but they are basically sold out and these are very similar. You can find this pair here (40% off!).

This scallop tee is adorable. The scallop around the edges just gives this top the tiniest detail that makes this more than just a plain white tee. You can find this top here.

That is just some of my summer inspiration. I hope you ladies have a great Monday!

"Thank you, God, for this good life and forgive us if we do not love it enough."
-Garrison Keillor
I saw this quote a couple of weeks back and it has really stuck with me.

Fourth of July Weekend Recap

Hey guys! I hope you have had a great week and had an amazing long weekend. I am recapping my holiday weekend for y'all today.

Saturday was a very relaxing day, we didn't do much but we went to a friends that night and had smoked chicken and all kinds of yummy goodness! Later as the sun went down it was a very cool summer night especially for July so we were all standing by the fire and watching the fireworks we shot off!

Then on Sunday me and my sweet momma headed to church! On this day Blake and I drove up to his grandparents and we ate yummy food and just hung out. The entire way home we drove in rain (it was rainy all weekend, boo!!).

We had an amazing firework show in our little town. I couldn't get over how crazy the sky looked, it was 9 p.m. and in the picture below it looks daylight. When the fireworks were shot they shot right into a dark cloud so it looked awesome.

This was where the fireworks were being shot.

This is on the opposite side of where they were being shot and look at how dark it is! I accidentally had the flash on in this picture too.

I hope all of you had an amazing weekend! It has taken me a little while to get back into the groove. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

4th of July Inspiration

Today I am sharing my fourth of July inspiration, since it is this weekend! It seems crazy that it is already time for July.

I talked about this dress here but I think it would be perfect for the fourth with some red and blue accessories. You can find this dress from Old Navy here.

These red sandals would add the perfect amount of holiday spirit. You can find these red sandals here. If you want to be festive you could add some blue accent jewelry and a red lip!

Here's to the upcoming 4th of July! Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!
